Dec. 1: Ten More Updates Announced – Although the updates are over for 2011, ten more updates were announced for 2012. This will affect businesses in the coming weeks, so many spend their time now, in 2011, trying to get ready. The new updates are said to focus on keyword density, keyword relevancy, and broken links.
This last year Google brought a large number of algorithm changes to the table. Although these changes helped increase traffic and rankings to many large corporations such as YouTube and eBay, it hurt a large majority of small businesses. According to Search Engine Land, some domains saw a 94% loss in visibility, and others were left picking up the pieces after they lost 80% of their keyword positions. Consider this graph by Sistrix, created to describe where mahalo.com’s keywords landed on Google search engine results pages (SERPs) before and after one of the Google algorithm updates:
Rank algorithm update from google weeded out a lot of good or bad websites, in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in another word, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. The update was initiated more than a year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

Low quality content according to Google Panda updates are:
* Use of content that is directly copied from other websites.
* The content which contains irrelevant information to the site and is less informative for the viewers.
* Over optimization by keywords in the content, i.e. putting keywords unnecessarily in the content which distort the meaning of the content.
* Use of non-related links in the content.
* Use of inappropriate and wrongly spelled words in the content.
* Use of repetitive content or writing about the same point in the whole content.

Google Panda’s effects were felt almost instantaneously, as several content farms at once saw their traffic statistics fall off a rock. Many reputed content farm sites faced the same lows in their rankings within a small period of time from the release of Google Panda. Google’s update especially battled duplicate content. If same content was robotically posted then that website would notice a sudden fall in rankings due to Google Panda updates which specifically aimed to prohibit duplicate content.
Seo Webmasters should in no way concentrate their efforts a great deal on just a particular algorithm factor but alternatively they should consider producing Web sites that contain high-quality content after which it they will have an obviously better chance of obtaining their site status well on Google for the long-term.

Panda Updates
Simply, the Panda updates, phased in over the course of 2011 (who knows what is in store going forward), literally rocked the internet marketing world, affecting many millions of websites The continued lack of transparency coming from Google led to real paranoia amongst website owners, developers and marketers. Whether or not actual penalties occurred on a site-by- site basis, any seeming decline in traffic or rankings generated fear and angst to a great degree.

What Differentiates Panda Penalties from Previous Penalties?
Pre-Panda penalties were caused many by human reviewers manually checking for quality. Once in a while you find a terrible site ranking for a good term. Panda updates are actually algorithmic changes that might affect a website positively or negatively. With Panda, if the human reviewers won’t penalize them. Panda will. The Panda updates might punish an entire site’s rankings for weak and thin content, while in the past this weak and thin content simply affected only the page, not the entire site. Penalizing an entire site for the “sins” of one page puts everyone on notice that the quality of a website maybe as only as good as its worst web page.
